Astrology apps are becoming more and more popular, offering astrology enthusiasts a convenient and accessible way to get daily horoscopes, unlock their birth charts, and even discover compatibilities within their relationships. But which ones should you download? Which ones should you not? In this article, we’ll take a look at the pros and cons of the top seven astrology apps that you should consider downloading today.
1. Co-Star Astrology – Your Personal Astrology Guide
Pros: Co-Star Astrology offers personalized horoscopes and birth chart analysis. The app uses AI technology to provide accurate and detailed insights into your life based on your birth chart. Co-Star also offers daily updates on your astrological transits, as well as compatibility analysis with friends.
What sets Co-Star Astrology apart from other apps is its focus on community. The app offers a social network where you can connect with other astrology enthusiasts, share your birth chart, and compare your personality traits.
Cons: Co-Star has many highs but also some lows, too. Sometimes, messages can be difficult to understand and can go way over your head. Today, the app told me to do “brooches, black garlic, and chignon” and don’t “naivety, hibernation, lost causes.” I had to think about what it was trying to tell me–unless it was literally telling me to wear a brooch while eating black garlic while wearing my hair in a chignon. What if my hair was not long enough for that style? Am I going to have a bad day? At any rate–some of these suggestions are off the wall and if you’re more of the literal type, these won’t sit well with you.
2. Sanctuary Astrology – For Thirsty Astrology Knowledge Seekers
Pros: Sanctuary Astrology is another astrology app that offers personalized horoscopes and birth chart analysis. The app uses your birth information to generate a comprehensive birth chart that includes all of the major planetary placements, as well as their aspects and houses. Sanctuary also offers daily horoscopes and personalized insights based on your chart.
What sets Sanctuary Astrology apart from other apps is it offers a range of articles and resources to help you deepen your astrology knowledge–particular on your own sign. If you ever needed in-depth inforamtion on your birth chart, this is the app for you.
Cons: Sanctuary Astrology is filled with ads and pop-ups (we understand the need to keep the lights on). I mean, it’s great if you’re looking for psychic services, but if you just want straight information about your birth chart without any hassle, this is not the app for you. In addition, the free version does not offer great horoscopes. They’re short with many pop-ups along the way. If you want more in-depth information, you need to subscribe.
3. Astrology Zone – A Classic Horoscope App
Pros: Astrology Zone is a classic horoscope app that has been around for over 25 years. The app is the brainchild of astrologer Susan Miller, who offers personalized horoscopes based on your sun sign. Miller’s horoscopes are known for their accuracy and depth, and she is considered one of the top astrologers in the world.
In addition to her monthly horoscopes, Miller also offers detailed astrological forecasts for each sign, as well as articles on astrology and other topics of interest. Astrology Zone is a great app for those looking for daily horoscopes and astrological insights from a trusted source. I’ve been a personal fan of Astrology Zone for over 10 years and always found it to be accurate and detailed.
Cons: Sometimes, the horoscopes are uploaded late, which may cause frustration with some users who want their horoscopes before or even at the start of the month.
4. TimePassages – A Comprehensive Astrology App
Pros: TimePassages is an astrology app that offers comprehensive birth chart analysis, as well as daily horoscopes and astrological forecasts. The app uses your birth information to generate a detailed birth chart that includes all of the major planetary placements, as well as their aspects and houses.
When you first open the app, TimePassages shares information about the current moon transists and what it means.
Cons: Although TimePassages is a great resource for information about your birth chart plus daily horoscopes, it can be both overwhelming and confusing. Under “Daily Horoscopes,” there is a horoscope for all of your astrological influences, which is way too much information to digest (unless you’re really into that, it can easily fly over your head). The “Charts” tab needs you to either add a friend or create a profile for someone. It lacks an explanation of what it means, but one can assume it will analyze your compatibility.
The app itself does not have any aesthetic appeal or personalized touches.
5. The Pattern – Go Deeper with Compatibility Insights
Pros: The Pattern is a unique astrology app that offers a fresh take on the traditional astrological framework. The app uses AI technology to analyze your birth chart and provide you with personalized insights into your life based on your astrological transits.
What sets The Pattern apart is its focus on practical advice. The app offers daily updates on your astrological transits, as well as advice on how to navigate them. The Pattern also offers compatibility analysis (called Bonds) with friends (and even celebrities), as well as insights into your personality traits and relationships.
Cons: The Pattern provides very detailed compatibility information (I think is the most unique and best feature), which can be a good and bad thing. Matching yourself with celebrities (or anyone for that matter) can easily get you down a rabbit hole of delusional behavior. See mine below (don’t worry-I have zero chance with any celebrity. I actually got the exact result with many famous and non-famous people).
6. Nebula – Accurate Birth Chart Analysis and More
Pros: Nebula is an astrology app that offers highly personalized and accurate birth chart analysis. The app uses AI technology to provide you with detailed insights into your life based on your birth chart, including information on your planetary placements, aspects, and houses. Nebula also offers daily horoscopes, tarot readings, and a range of other features to help you deepen your understanding of yourself and the world around you.
Cons: Although the app is beautiful, particularly the avatars for each of the zodiac signs, you need to watch a lot of ads to tap into its resources. And if you don’t watch an ad, there are popups in other areas of the app. Having that amount of ads (pop ups, video ads and ads within the app itself) it takes away from the experience of exploring Nebula’s resources.
7. Chani – A Beautiful App for Inclusive Astrology
Pros: Chani is an astrology app founded by astrologer Chani Nicholas, who has gained a significant following for her feminist and inclusive approach to astrology. The app offers personalized horoscopes and birth chart analysis, as well as daily and monthly forecasts based on the current astrological transits. Chani also offers a range of educational resources, including workshops and articles, to help users deepen their understanding of astrology. With its focus on inclusivity and social justice, Chani is a great choice for anyone looking for a more intersectional approach to astrology.
Cons: Just like the other apps on our list, the constant popups for a paid subscription take away from the experience of learning more about astrology. I absolutely understand the need for paying for a subscription to unlock more content, but a popup after every click seems like too much.
